South African singer, songwriter and guitarist Gerald James Clark has recorded five successful albums, on which he collaborated with some of South Africa’s highest acclaimed musicians.
His second solo album called Black Water received great international acclaim and the music video for the song of the same name was nominated for an European MTV Award. He has traveled and performed his music in 16 countries around the world. His inspiration in his compositions comes from his love for adventure, traveling and his spontaneous nature.
He is backed by Jakub Hlobil on hybrid guitar (bass and guitar at the same time) and Antonín Jína on drums. Since 2023, the band started collaborating with the brass section of a Czech band called „What the funk“ and although the response has been fantastic, the trio still delivers a solid, soulful and fun set.
Clark and his whole band played a headlining set at the very popular Up the Creek Festival ( https://www.upthecreek.co.za ) in February 2024 in South Africa and has recently returned from Mozambique where the whole band played one of the headlining sets at STRAB festival 2024.(https://strab.co.za) Clark is producing exciting new compositions/songs and plans for recording are on the table for 2025!

Jihoafrický zpěvák, skladatel a kytarista Gerald James Clark (JAR) nahrál pět úspěšných alb, na nichž spolupracuje s předními jihoafrickými hudebníky. Album s názvem Black Water získalo velký mezinárodní ohlas a videoklip ke stejnojmenné písni byl nominován na evropskou cenu MTV. Se svou hudbou účinkoval na koncertech v šestnácti zemích světa. Clarkovou inspirací je dobrodružství, vášeň získaná na vlnách při surfování, nebo během jízdy na koni po jižní Africe. Na koncertě ho doprovází Jakub Hlobil, hybridní kytara (basa a kytara najednou) a Antonín Jína – bicí nástroje. Od poloviny roku 2023 kapela spolupracuje s dechovou sekcí What The Funk Brass a společně vystoupili na festivalech

Der südafrikanische Sänger, Songwriter und Gitarrist Gerald James Clark hat fünf erfolgreiche Alben aufgenommen, auf denen er mit einigen der renommiertesten Musiker Südafrikas zusammenarbeitete. Sein zweites Soloalbum mit dem Titel Black Water erhielt große internationale Anerkennung und das Musikvideo zum gleichnamigen Song wurde für einen europäischen MTV Award nominiert. Er hat 16 Länder bereist und seine Musik dort vorgestellt. Die Inspiration für seine Lieder kommt von seiner Liebe zu Abenteuern, Reisen und seiner spontanen Natur. Unterstützt wird er von Jakub Hlobil an der Hybridgitarre (Bass und Gitarre gleichzeitig) und Antonín Jína am Schlagzeug. Seit 2023 arbeitet die Band mit den Bläsern einer tschechischen Band namens „What the funk“ zusammen, und obwohl der Sound fantastisch ist, liefert das Trio immer noch ein solides, gefühlvolles und spaßiges Set.
